The Girls' Festival on 3rd March is a traditional celebration wishing girls healthy growth. As it coincides with the season when peach blossoms are in full bloom, it is also known as the “Peach Blossom Festival”.
Japanese dolls are displayed as substitutes for girls, protecting them from illness and misfortune while wishing for their healthy development. The arrangement of Hina dolls is modeled on scenes from the former Japanese imperial court. The top tier features a pair representing the Emperor and Empress. Below them are three court ladies, five musicians, and the ministers of the right and left. Additional decorations include a ox-drawn cart, a tea pavilion, snow lanterns, peaches, and tangerines.
